Our mission is to make Christlike disciples in Thailand.
Both of us come from Christian backgrounds and were active in our churches as we were growing up. As a matter of fact, it was our passion to serve God that brought us together.
In 2001, Steve was leading a small group Bible study. It was through this Bible study that he met Rebecca who happened to be serving in a country in Central Asia at the time. She was teaching English and sharing the Good News. My attraction to Rebecca was immediate. She has always been a tangible example of God’s amazing grace in my life. We married shortly after Rebecca’s return to the US.
We continued to serve God through discipleship. In 2007, we joined Grand Rapids International Fellowship (GRIF) and worked to contribute to the church. Steve worked with the youth pastor in ministering to urban teens who knew nothing of the Bible or God’s love for them. He also tutored English Language Learners (ELL) classes. Rebecca was also an ELL tutor and took on other roles such as youth group prayer partner and mission council president. Additionally, she participated in a JESUS Film mission trip to Nicaragua in 2013.
Through the years, our desire to evangelize and disciple further intensified. We started attending missional events, that led us to participate in the Church of the Nazarene’s Cross-Cultural Orientation weekend. It was during this weekend that we really began thinking about Asia. In Thailand, less than two percent of the population is Christian. The need for discipleship is overwhelming! God has finally solidified our call to missions.
Currently, we are volunteer missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene. This means that we need to raise $2,500 in monthly donations. This will cover rent, transportation, food, insurance, taxes, language school and other expenses. It also provides funds for discipleship materials, books and games for the children we work with, and office supplies.
