Ken and Danaka have been married since 1996. They have three children. Ethan is a graduate of Olivet. Dorie is married to John Hall and is a graduate of Point Loma. Breena is currently a student at Georgia Southern University.

Ken and Danaka Bulthuis entered the Nazarene Church in 2009 after an invitation from a friend. This invitation changed not only their future but also their children's future. Each member of their family now serves God in different churches but with one heart.

Ken has worked as a District Manager in industrial tooling for the last eight years. He also spent ten years in construction. He started to feel his call to missions at the beginning of 2023.

Danaka is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. Her call to missions started before Ken’s so she spent time as a Local Missions Pastor and as the Lead Planting Pastor for Sparrow Church of the Nazarene. God laid a burden on her heart for hungry people.

Together Ken and Danaka have served at Sparrow Church for the last 4 years. This mobile dinner church not only feeds bodies and souls, but every week, people disciple friends by distributing a meal to someone who does not attend the church.

During the 2023 General Assembly, God invited them to missions. They walked obediently through discovering missions and accepted their call to the Nazarene Campus in MaeTaeng Thailand. Ken works with campus development for the children's home, Bible college, district office, and mission house. Danaka provides care and administration for the children's home and district office. They spend their days sharing God's love on campus and in the surrounding area.
