Anna grew up in the Church of the Nazarene as a pastor’s kid. She attended pretty much every district event in the Northwestern Illinois District. She went on many mission trips to places like Toronto, Puerto Rico and South Dakota.
When Anna was 8, her parents made the absolutely normal life decision to move their entire family, which included her younger autistic brother to another country and they lived in Trinidad for a year while her parents were volunteer missionaries there. That experience along with having a special need sibling, gave Anna a unique world view and a compassionate heart.
Growing up, Anna always wanted to be a superhero with the ability to fly to the rescue. Since that probably won’t happen, she is listening to God’s call and is jumping on a plane to Papua New Guinea.
Fun fact: Anna loves gummy worms almost as much as she loves Jesus!
