Nazarene Missions Teams, especially construction focused Work and Witness teams, on the Mesoamerica North Central Field has been busy the past few years! Even with COVID, the ministry continued with virtual teams that provided very real construction for churches in our field. As such, ministry leaders on the field have continued to put many miles on our full size Dodge Ram pickups.

It seems we are continually using our trucks; they are a critical part of our ministry. They haul our tools, including a heavy concrete mixer, luggage, and whatever else is needed for a job. They also pull our structure delivery trailer, which allows us to save project money on freight and delivery costs. These miles on Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvadoran roads do take their toll. And over time, good pickups do wear out. They have served us well, but it is time to plan for the future of Work and Witness on the field in a way that is sustainable.

This project was proposed in April 2023 to purchase a newer truck to continue to serve in the ministry. The Work & Witness leaders on the field have their eyes on a RAM 2500 crew cab, long box, Diesel 4x4 truck. The truck itself costs approximately $40,000, and other associated shipping costs and fees add an extra $8,000, bringing the full need to $48,000.

Between April 2023 and April 2024, the older trucks were sold, and generous donors added another $5,500. As of early May 2024, there was $30,000 in the account. This project is to raise the remaining $18,000 necessary to purchase the type of truck we need.
