At Ben-Gurion-Ring in Frankfurt, a unique community outreach is creating space for connection, belonging, and hope in a diverse neighborhood marked by social challenges. Centered around a welcoming neighborhood café, this initiative provides an affordable and inviting environment where residents can gather, build relationships, and experience genuine community. Through simple offerings like coffee, cake, board games, and creative activities, more than 50 people each week are finding a place where they feel at home.
Working in partnership with local government and neighborhood organizations, the ministry engages the community through regular events, as well as seasonal gatherings such as summer festivals, Christmas markets, and picnics. These moments create natural opportunities for connection and trust-building, especially among individuals who may otherwise experience isolation.
At the heart of the project is “Lichtblick” (“Ray of Hope”), a worship gathering where many participants are encountering the Bible and the message of Christ for the first time. Though the local Church of the Nazarene team is small, their presence is making a meaningful impact—helping people form friendships, rediscover hope, and begin exploring faith in a supportive environment.
With additional support, the ministry aims to sustain and expand its outreach, including funding part-time leadership to continue building relationships and serving the community. This project is already transforming lives—bringing encouragement to the discouraged, connection to the isolated, and a growing awareness of God’s love to those who have never experienced it before.
