Myanmar Central District is based at Mandalay City. Mandalay pioneer mission work was started by Pu Tana, Dr. Kwon Dong Hwan (Bill) and Saya Moe Kyaw Naing in 2018 through CIC Extension Classes.

In 2019, YCF Church from Yangon led by Rev. Dam Suan Thang (Adam) joined in Mandalay pioneer area and in 2020 the Mandalay pioneer area became the Myanmar Central District, Dr. Donghwan (Bill) Kwon became the first District Superintendent. There are 7 established churches, 4 ordained elders, 14 district licensed pastors, and 183 official members of the Church of the Nazarene in Myanmar Central District. This District is primarily focusing on reaching Burmese and Buddhist non-believers for Christ. Myanmar Central District is divided into two Zones, Mandalay and Yangon Zone.

Creative mission strategies are what the present leadership are wrestling with. With the present political situation sending foreign missionaries is too dangerous, but sending local missionaries who already know the culture and the language is one of the best ways to reach out to the Burmese people. The District Advisory Board assigned Pastor Solomon, a Pastor of Antioch Gospel Church of the Nazarene and Rev. Thein Than to lead the missionary work in Mandalay area. This year Antioch Church is planting another three (3) churches and for the next three years the District is expecting to have at least 9 churches in Mandalay Area.

There is also a need of reaching out the Ayeyarwady Region which is near from Yangon Zone. Yangon Zone Nazarene Churches members are mainly from Ayeyarwady Region, so sending its own people back to their place is an advantage. Since there are no Nazarene Mission work or Nazarene Church in Ayeyarwady Region, the DAB assigned Rev. Roland Thoo to become local missionaries to pioneer in Ayeyarwady Region which was already started this year even though there are not enough financial resources at hand. The goal is to plant at least six (6) churches in the next three (3) years.
