Evelio & Gladis

Gladis y Evelio, presbíteros de la Iglesia del Nazareno. Nacieron en el norte de Perú, Gladis nació en la costa y, Evelio en los andes de Cajamarca. Los dos conocieron al Señor desde niños en sus respectivos lugares. Evelio fue llamado al ministerio durante una Escuela Bíblica Vacacional y a los 17 años fue al Seminario a prepararse para el ministerio pastoral. Mientras Evelio estudiaba en el Seminario, en una asamblea distrital se conocieron con Gladis; se hicieron amigos, luego se enamoraron y se casaron el 15 de enero de 1983. Ellos han sido bendecidos con tres hijos, una nuera y un nieto: Jocelyn, Gabriela, Randy, Winnie y Franco.

Gladis y Evelio, desde que conocieron al Señor, entendieron que Dios los había llamado a su santo ministerio para toda la vida, “una carrera sin retorno”, por ello se han esforzado en prepararse de la mejor manera. Después de estudiar el bachillerato y licenciatura en el Seminario Teológico Nazareno del Perú han seguido estudios postgraduados: Evelio estudió una maestría en SENDAS; luego, obtuvo un Doctorado en Ministerio del Seminario Teológico Nazareno de Kansas City. Gladis después de obtener su licenciatura, ahora estudia una Maestría en Liderazgo Pastoral en el Seminario Teológico Nazareno del Perú.

Como pareja, han servido en varios roles en la Iglesia del Nazareno, han pastoreado 5 iglesias en un periodo de 26 años, han servido 5 años en la superintendencia del distrito Perú Norte, un año a cargo de la Coordinación Nacional de ETED Perú; y, 9 años como rector del Seminario Teológico Nazareno de Perú. Durante el servicio en el seminario,  Gladis enseñó cursos de Biblia y Pastoral. Actualmente el Dr. Evelio juntamente con su esposa, sirven como CEA, en el Área Andino Central – Bolivia y Perú, de la región SAM. Los proyectos principales a nivel de Área  son: la plantación de nuevas iglesias, el desarrollo de líderes en coordinación con los seminarios y llevar a los distritos a todos los distritos de fase I y Fase II a Fase III. Los esposos Vásquez consideran que no hay mayor privilegio que servir al Señor aquí en la tierra; por ello, el apoyo de la iglesia, mediante su oración y de cualquier otra manera, son muy valiosos.

Gladis and Evelio, Elders of the Church of the Nazarene. They were born in the north of Peru, Gladis was born on the coast, and Evelio in the Andes of Cajamarca. The two knew the Lord as children in their respective places. Evelio was called to the ministry during a Vacation Bible School and at age 17 he went to Seminary to prepare for pastoral ministry. While Evelio was studying at the Seminary, in a district assembly he met Gladis; They became friends, then fell in love, and were married on January 15, 1983. They have been blessed with three children, a daughter-in-law, and a grandson: Jocelyn, Gabriela, Randy, Winnie, and Franco.

Gladis and Evelio, since they met the Lord, understood that God had called them to his holy ministry for life, "a career with no return", so they have strived to prepare in the best way. After studying the baccalaureate and bachelor's degree at the Nazarene Theological Seminary of Peru, they have followed postgraduate studies: Evelio studied for a master's degree in SENDAS; later, he earned a Doctorate of Ministry from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City. Gladis after obtaining her bachelor's degree is now studying for a Master's in Pastoral Leadership at the Nazarene Theological Seminary of Peru.

As a couple, they have served in various roles in the Church of the Nazarene, they have pastored 5 churches in a period of 26 years, they have served 5 years in the Peru Norte district superintendence, one year in charge of the National Coordination of ETED Peru; and 9 years as rector of the Nazarene Theological Seminary of Peru. During the seminary service, Gladis taught Bible and Pastoral courses. Currently, Dr. Evelio, together with his wife, serves as FSC, in the Central Andean Field - Bolivia and Peru, of the SAM region. The main projects at the Area level are: planting new churches, developing leaders in coordination with the seminars, and bringing the districts to all the districts from Phase I and Phase II to Phase III. The Vasquez couple considers that there is no greater privilege than serving the Lord here on earth; Therefore, the support of the church, through its prayer and in any other way, is very valuable.
