Yessica es una sierva que quiere empezar a hacer misión desde casa...

Nació en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, y es parte de una familia que ama y teme a Dios. Con su familia empezó a visitar la Iglesia del Nazareno desde sus dos años de edad, y fue a sus diez años que tomó la desición de reconocer a Jesús como su Salvador. Mientras crecía, se involucraba en el servicio de la iglesia local en los ministerios de alabanza, compasión y JNI y, más adelante, a partir de sus 15 años, empezó a servir en las oportunidades con grupos de misiones de Trabajo y Testimonio en RD.     A medida que seguía sirviendo, Dios también le permitía seguir creciendo en amor a Su obra y en liderazgo,  lo que fue de bendición en su tiempo como secretaria y coordinadora de estrategias de zona del concilio de JNI de su distrito, donde tuvo la oportunidad de iniciar un proyecto de música y adoración para los ministerios de alabanza juveniles del Distrito Central, llamado ¨The Secret Room¨. Posterior a esto, tuvo también la bendición de servir para la JNI del área mesocentral en la Región Mesoamérica.  

Recibió el llamado de Dios en una etapa de su vida en la que tenía muchos planes personales y profesionales establecidos, y ninguno de ellos incluía el servir al Señor con todo su tiempo, con todo su amor, con todo su esfuerzo, e incluso con todo su sufrimiento, pero confiaba en que Dios no se equivocaba cuando le recordaba que mucho mejores son Sus planes y mucho más grandes son Sus sueños, así que mientras finalizaba sus estudios de arquitectura, empezó a estudiar misiones transculturales y continuaba sirviendo junto a Misiones Globales en campamentos de orientación misionera nacionales e internacionales, e incluso llegando a ser una de las facilitadoras del Proyecto ¨Iglesias saludables¨ de la iniciativa Génesis, para el Distrito Central de RD.

Actualmente se encuentra sirviendo como Coordinadora de Proyectos Especiales para Trabajo y Testimonio en República Dominicana, y le apasiona el poder usar su carrera de Arquitectura para servir a Dios y a Su iglesia como no lo había hecho antes, a la vez que sigue aprendiendo de las culturas con las que conecta y sigue uniéndose a la misión de Dios en el lugar donde Él la plantó.

Yessica is a servant who wants to start doing missions from home...

She was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and is part of a family who loves and fears God. With her family she began to visit the Church of the Nazarene since she was 2 years old, and when she was 10, she made the decision to recognize Jesus as her Savior. Growing up, she started to get involved in some local church ministries, like Compassion, the Worship team and NYI, and later, when she was 15, she began to serve in Work and Witness´ opportunities with missions' groups in the DR. As she continued serving, God also allowed her to continue growing in love for His work and in leadership, which was a blessing in her time as secretary and zone strategist for her district NYI council, where she had the opportunity to start a music and worship project for the youth worship ministries of the Central District, called ¨The Secret Room¨. After this, she also had the blessing to serve for the NYI of the Mesocentral field, in the Mesoamerica Region.

She got the call to missions at a stage in her life in which she had established personal and professional plans, and none of them included serving the Lord with all her time, with all her love, with all her effort, and even with all her suffering, but she trusted that God was not wrong when He reminded her that much better are His plans and much bigger are His dreams, so while finishing her studies in architecture, she began to study cross-cultural missions and continued serving with Global Missions in national and international missionary orientation camps (CCO´s), and even becoming one of the facilitators of the "Healthy Churches´ Project¨ of the Genesis initiative, for the Central District of the DR.

She is currently serving as the Special Projects Coordinator for Work and Witness in the Dominican Republic and is passionate about using her Architecture degree to serve God and His church like never before, while continuing learning about the cultures she connects with, and continues to join God's mission in the place where He planted her.
