Serving In

Jessica grew up in a small town in North Carolina where she attended a Nazarene church and accepted Christ as her savior at a young age. She was active in the church at the local and district level and first experienced her call to ministry at a youth event. That call led her to Trevecca Nazarene University where she served as a mission intern in Kyiv, Ukraine for 3 months and graduated with a BA in Intercultural Studies. This education and ministry experience helped confirm for her that God was calling her to missions and developed in her a deep connection to the Eurasia North Field. After graduating from Trevecca in 2020, she served as a sponsored missionary in Yerevan, Armenia for 18 months. During that time, she worked with children through the Kid’s Club program on Saturdays and helped with VBS at each of the Nazarene churches in Armenia. She also taught two weekly English classes for teens and children as well as a class for Cubans living in Armenia. She organized a Bible study and led game days for the teens from the church.

After leaving Armenia, Jessica attended Duke Divinity School and received a Master of Divinity. During her studies she also had the opportunity to serve in different ministry contexts, including a house church and an intentional church community and farm. She connected with an Afghani refugee family and for over a year met with them in their home to teach English and spend time with them. These experiences have helped to form Jessica to better follow God’s call in her life. She is excited for the opportunity to return to Armenia where she will be working with a team to plant a new church in Yerevan, as well as working with the field communications team.

Jessica loves swimming, reading, knitting, and learning new languages, and is a district licensed minister working towards ordination.
