Jonathan (JD) is originally from Linda, California, where he worked in a local church and community, got his local and district pastor's license, and participated in short-term missions around the world. He is now serving as a Sponsored Missionary in Yerevan, Armenia.
Jonathan received his Bachelors in Missions and Pastoral Ministries from Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma in 2022, serving in a local church in Bethany, Oklahoma through SNU’s Ministry Internship program. During his time in Oklahoma it became his home, and the local church became and remains his family. He plans to be a member of that local church for life.
Since his calling at age 5, Jonathan has been preparing for missions, learning about other cultures and cross-cultural work, reading the life stories of Jim Elliott, Amy Carmichael, and Hudson Taylor; meeting and interviewing missionaries, taking bible and language courses, and living cross-culturally on short term trips to grow CC experience.
Jonathan arrived in Armenia July, 2023. For the last 1.5 years he has been living as a missionary in Yerevan, learning the language and culture, working to strengthen the local church, as well as to plan and plant churches. During his time in Armenia, the church in Yerevan was blessed to plant one Church Type Mission and organize the CTM in Sevan. Jonathan was also recently appointed Field Communications Coordinator, a role he hopes will use and grow of his love for listening, story telling, and writing.
Jonathan is 26, loves the outdoors, exploring the world, traveling, meeting new people, playing guitar, worshiping, writing, reading, hearing stories, and learning languages. Most of all, Jonathan loves Jesus, people, and bringing the two together to build the Kingdom.
Jonathan hopes to inspire a generation of missionaries in the Church of the Nazarene, to go into all the nations--from all the nations!
