Daniel A.K.L. Gomis is the Regional Director of the Africa Region.
Dany is from Senegal, where he grew up as the son of a famous journalist. He first accepted Christ in 1995 and was mentored as a young man by a lay Nazarene Pastor from Cape Verde and later by Nazarene missionaries throughout Africa. He has since gone on to mentor many other leaders through his work in West Africa. Dany began leading a congregation as lay pastor in 2003, while also serving the church in an essential role as French translator. He served as President of the Evangelical Youth of Senegal (J.E.S). Through L'Université Gaston Berger, in Senegal, he completed his undergraduate studies in African Literature and Civilization and a teaching certification in Wolof. He went on to earn a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, USA and in May 2019 he received
his honorary Doctorate from Southern Nazarene University, USA.
Dany is married to Anélie and is a father to four daughters. In 2011 he was ordained as an elder and has led the church in the roles of Pastor, District Superintendent in Senegal, and Field Strategy Coordinator in West Africa. He has also served as Africa West Field Literature and Education Coordinator and member of the French Literature Advisory Committee. Currently, he is the Regional Director for The Church of the Nazarene, Africa. Beyond the church, Dany has worked for the International Organization for Migration, working towards a more humane and orderly migration of people. His passion in ministry is to see communities transformed by Christlike disciples who will bring peace, healing and restoration in every community and nation of Africa through the values of authenticity, presence, relevance, and interdependence.
Dany enjoys reading, listening to music, watching football, and learning about new cultures and meeting new people.
