Serving In

Benjamin & Marlen were born in Guatemala.

Benjamin accepted Jesus as his savior at the age of 9 and Marlen at the age of 7.

They met at the Church of the Nazarene in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala and got married in December 2004. A week after their wedding they moved to San Jose, Costa Rica where Benjamin earned his Master in Theology and Marlen begun her theological studies. As soon as the year of studies finished in Costa Rica they went back to Guatemala to serve as regional missionaries for the former MAC Region. They served as missionaries for 5 years in Guatemala and Costa Rica, working in the ministries of NYI and Youth Evangelism.

In 2011 God blessed them with their first child who they named Madison. She was born in Denver, Colorado, the place where Benjamin and Marlen moved back then to pastor. That same year they went back to Guatemala and served as youth pastors in Coban. In 2012 the Sorias' moved back again to the US, this time to Kansas where they started a Spanish ministry in Newton. In 2015 they welcomed with enormous happiness and gratitude their second child Mathias who was born in Wichita, Kansas. They have been pastoring in Newton for 10 years. During this time in Kansas, Benjamin got his Doctorate in Ministry at the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City and Marlen started the career of Social Work in Wichita State University.

At the end of 2021, they received an invitation to serve again as missionaries assigned in global deployment to the Mesoamerica Region where Benjamin serves as NYI Regional Coordinator and Marlen as Children Ministries Regional Coordinator. The Soria family will move to Panama at the beginning of June 2022. As the date approaches they are filled with happiness and sadness at the same time as they will go back to this region but they will leave their 10 years church family in Kansas.

As family they are committed to serve the Lord their savior and their neighbors with joy and love in any assignment where God calls them.

Giving Frequency

A pledge is any amount you commit to give to support a missionary, even if you are not prepared to give in full right now. You can set up a recurring gift or give on your own schedule to fulfill your pledge, either through this site or with a check. Pledging an amount even before you are able to give it allows a missionary to count on your future support.
