The Church of the Nazarene in the USA/Canada Region faces an urgent need to develop a new generation of pastors and to plant new churches. Church planting remains one of the most effective ways to reach new people with the gospel, yet the region has recently experienced a net loss of active churches despite ongoing planting efforts. To reverse this trend and move toward a long-term goal of establishing 200 new churches each year, the region must significantly expand its pipeline of prepared and qualified pastors.
This initiative accelerates that effort by strengthening leadership recruitment, training, and deployment across all districts. Pastor Selena Freeman a proven church planter and leader with Church Multiplication Catalyst, will guide the design and early implementation of a comprehensive strategy that identifies emerging leaders, equips them for ministry, and places them in new church-planting contexts.
Through this coordinated, Spirit-led effort, the Multiply Collective aims to equip hundreds of leaders, plant new churches across every district, and embed a deep culture of calling, discipleship, and multiplication within the denomination. The long-term impact will be seen in strengthened leadership pipelines, expanding networks of collaboration, and the launching of new congregations that help fulfill the mission of making Christlike disciples in the nations.
