This project seeks to install concrete floors in 17 churches located in Awajún communities along the Marañón, Domingusa, Santiago, and Nieva rivers, as well as along key regional roadways. Many of these congregations currently gather in buildings with dirt floors. During the rainy season, mud forms inside the temples, creating difficult conditions for worship.
By placing concrete floors in churches in Napuruca, Nueva Unión Umukei, Ciro Alegría, Pumpushat, Nuevo Kuit, Shimpu, Chapisa, Alto Pupuntas, Nueva Isla, Nazareth, Centro Kayamas, Nueva Esperanza, Guayabal, Manseriche, Tsamajaen, Alto Waisem, and Japaime Quebrada, this project will provide safer, cleaner, and more durable spaces for congregations to meet.
The goal is to ensure that each church has a suitable place where believers can gather for worship, discipleship, and community life without being hindered by weather conditions. A solid foundation will not only improve physical conditions but also strengthen the sense of stability and permanence for the Church in these native communities.
