The Nazarene Youth Worker Academy is a transformative one-year hybrid leadership program created to equip youth ministry leaders across Africa with the skills, spiritual depth, and confidence they need to serve their communities with lasting impact. Through a blend of in-person gatherings and online modules, participants receive culturally relevant training in leadership, discipleship, mental health, financial management, and Nazarene heritage, preparing them to be role models, mentors, and catalysts for change in both urban and rural contexts.

But this program is more than training, it’s about building a continent-wide movement of passionate, capable leaders who embrace their kingdom identity and work together to lead young people toward Christ. Every four years, the Youth Worker Conference will bring these leaders, current trainees, and interns together for a powerful time of collaboration, encouragement, and shared vision.

This initiative responds to a clear and urgent need: many youth leaders begin their roles without adequate preparation or a deep understanding of their faith’s identity. The Academy directly addresses this gap, aligning with the Church of the Nazarene’s global strategies, BE (evangelism), DO (discipleship), and GO (leadership development), and regional priorities of discipleship, leadership growth, and district development.
