With the ongoing changes in the Finance Department, we on the Africa Region need to ensure that we are effectively equipped with the right skills and equipment to discharge our duties efficiently.
The Finance Department currently comprises of nine members. This includes the Regional Finance Coordinator (RFC), Internal Auditor and Trainer, Regional Accounts Manager, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Administrator, and Field Finance Coordinators (5). There is a great need for skills and development programs to ensure our brothers and sisters keep abreast of the changes driven by the rapid advances in technology. There is also a need for proper equipping of the team members with the right tools, such as a modern laptop, an external monitor, and a work cell phone.
We are looking to purchase this equipment, enroll each member in short courses of financial training, develop an annual training and workshop for the whole finance team, and offer a one-week employee retreat for finance team members.
This is an ongoing need, and we have a five-year vision of developing a top quality finance team. Our current request is for $20,000, to cover the first year of expenses.
