This project addresses the high cost and unreliability of electricity at Nazarene Theological College of Southern Africa (NTCSA) and the Good News Conference Center in Johannesburg. Frequent power outages and the rising expense of both electricity and diesel for backup generators place significant strain on resources—funds that could otherwise be invested in training and developing pastors and leaders.
To meet this need, the project will install a solar power system capable of supplying reliable electricity to both facilities. By leveraging Johannesburg’s abundant sunlight, solar energy will become the primary power source, reducing operational costs and ensuring consistent energy for daily functions. This will also enhance security by maintaining uninterrupted power for essential systems such as gates, alarms, and surveillance.
The long-term impact will be significant. Reliable and affordable electricity will support the implementation of “smart classroom” technology for blended learning across the Africa South Field, while freeing up financial resources to invest in leadership development, staff support, and ministry growth. Ultimately, this project will strengthen NTCSA’s ability to equip pastors and leaders, advancing the mission of the Church throughout southern Africa and beyond.
