For over 34 years, our church has maintained a presence in Barcelona, serving as a beacon of faith and community. Though there were times of closure, 25 years ago, God led us to a fresh start. Since then, the Barcelona church has grown into a thriving, faithful congregation. Many of our members are hardworking immigrant laborers who, despite living on modest incomes, remain deeply committed to supporting their church and community. Others are second-generation immigrants striving to build a brighter future for their families while expanding the Kingdom of God in this part of Europe.
In 2010, our congregation faced a significant challenge when our current building was closed due to noise pollution concerns. With great sacrifice, the unwavering support of our people, assistance from our denomination, and Alabaster funds, we were able to renovate, soundproof, and officially register the space as a place of worship. However, while the building meets our basic worship needs, it lacks the necessary space for children’s ministry, discipleship classes, and compassionate outreach. To accommodate our children, we have been renting an additional space, but it is not up to code and is inadequate for our needs.
Now, we have a rare and exciting opportunity to purchase a building just across the road from our current location. The owner has offered us a favorable price, making this a viable step forward in expanding our ministry in Barcelona. This new space will allow us to provide a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment for our children, establish a dedicated area for compassionate ministries, and host a variety of Sunday School and discipleship classes.
Barcelona is one of the most expensive cities in Europe, which has made acquiring property incredibly difficult. However, for the past 14 years, the church has faithfully covered rent and utilities for an additional building. With God’s provision, we believe we can sustain this new facility, not only maintaining but also growing our impact in the city.
This is more than a building; it is a gateway to greater ministry, deeper discipleship, and a stronger future for the people we serve. We invite you to stand with us in faith as we seize this God-given opportunity to expand our reach and continue sharing His love in Barcelona.
