Across Africa, church planters are establishing new churches, particularly in rural villages and small towns. As Jesus Film teams plant churches and raise up lay leaders as pastors, we encourage local congregations to take ownership of their building development. While churches often begin in homes, schools, or under trees, the growing need for a permanent structure arises as discipleship groups expand.
Local materials can cover much of the construction, but the cost of iron sheet roofing, secure doors, and windows often exceeds what these young churches can afford. Our mission is to support districts in bridging this financial gap, helping churches complete their structures when they’ve done their best to build on their own.
By partnering with districts, we not only strengthen local churches but also reinforce the unity of the body of Christ. Tuka Pamoja - “We are together” expresses our commitment to expanding God’s kingdom through collaboration.
On average, roofing a small church costs $1,500–$2,000. Funding 20 roofs annually will significantly boost church planting efforts and district development. A completed church provides more than a place of worship; it enables:
• Midweek discipleship groups and Bible studies
• Children’s programs that enhance education
• Youth fellowship and mentorship opportunities
• A safe, sheltered space for Sunday school and worship
• A visible presence of hope and light in the community
With your support, we can equip churches to grow, thrive, and transform their communities.
