The Church building project was started for the sole purpose of making this South Asian country a self-sustaining District for the long future. Several thoughts and practical cultural understandings along with several years of research and ground experience was used to create this project.
1. Prayer – we prayed for a vision that allowed us to build God’s kingdom according to the cultural DNA and the practical ground realities.
2. Vision – The vision was discussed, shared and agreed upon by the District Superintendent, District Advisory Board, District Leaders, Pastors and local churches.
3. Local Contribution – The District has committed to an organic vision. With a combination of local contribution and then asking for additional funding that contributes to a long-term goal we hope to increase our churches in the country. It allows for worship that is safe for our members and contribute to the spiritual and physical growth of the Church through increase of membership and spiritually. The District has already grown since we started working on this project in membership, church self-sustained buildings and in financial strength (locally and in giving).
We are seeking matching funds for 12 church buildings. Each of these local churches have contributed 50% of the costs through the purchase of land, legal approval permits, foundations, walls, ceilings, internal stage, electrical work, windows, doors, refined detailing. Which includes painting, lights, fans carpets, pulpit, furniture for stage and other minor finishing work needed.
