The Colombo Ministry Centre provides a strategic opportunity to establish a new Church of the Nazarene in Sri Lanka’s capital and largest city. By dedicating one floor of an existing Nazarene-owned property to the new congregation, the project will create a permanent and accessible space for worship, discipleship, prayer, pastoral ministry, and community outreach. The facility will also include suitable accommodation for the pastor and family, helping provide consistent leadership for the growing ministry.
Alabaster funding will help prepare the designated floor with a worship hall, ministry spaces, and essential electrical, plumbing, waterproofing, air-conditioning, and interior improvements. Additional phases will prepare other areas of the property for rental, generating income to help support the church plant and the long-term operation of the ministry centre. By transforming an underused property into an active ministry base, this project will maximize an existing Nazarene resource while establishing a sustainable foundation for ministry in Colombo.
The vision is to see a healthy, growing, and increasingly self-supporting Nazarene congregation making Christlike disciples in Colombo. The Ministry Centre will serve as a hub for evangelism, children and youth ministries, compassionate outreach, leadership development, and district activities while also strengthening the work of NCM Lanka. Through this investment, the church will be equipped to develop new leaders, serve individuals and families, and extend the hope of Christ throughout the surrounding community for years to come.
