The New Horizon satellite of the Peru Nazarene Theological Seminary is living in exciting times. It is located within the Peruvian Amazon, home to the Aguaruna people. Missionaries from the Church of the Nazarene came to this area 100 years ago in 1924, and they were the first to create a written version of the spoken language, Awajún. Three Nazarene districts with over 200 churches are ministering in this area as of 2024.
The New Horizon satellite is focused on providing theological education to leaders from these churches, raising up a new generation of Aguaruna Nazarene pastors and leaders. It is also home to a translation center that is translating Nazarene discipleship resources and tools into the Awajún language.
This project is a sustainability project designed to generate funds to offer scholarships to new students from the Peruvian Amazon and fund important updates to the seminary, such as new books for the library.
This seminary site has had three fish ponds since 2010. This project would expand to nine ponds. The approximately $6,000 needed will supply the necessary plumbing infrastructure and hatchery supplies for the new ponds.
Thank you for supporting what God is doing through his people in Peru!
