Thailand District was organized over 20 years ago but growth has been slow. There is, however, a growing momentum of emerging leaders who are identified by local Thai pastors as their assistants in various lay ministry roles. Many of these emerging leaders are current students in the Chapman Institute of Theology (CIT) preparing for various lay and ordained ministry roles in the Church of the Nazarene. But the aside from courses offered by Chapman Institute of Theology needs to be supplemented by personal experience and actual application.

In order for those young leaders to develop to their full potential, they need true mentorship relationships that model visionary perspectives, healthy dialogue and mature disagreement while still displaying unity. The emphasis in this district is leadership character development and missional projects that expand the impact of the Kingdom of God over simply staying busy in good church “work.”

Through continuous practical learning, paired with reaching married couples and families through the ALPHA Marriage course, will help the Thailand district grow and develop into a Phase 2 in the next couple of years.
