The Tanzania Pig Farming project is intended to provide financial stability and assistance for pastors. Raising pigs affords pastors the ability to provide basic needs for their family, especially in areas where local churches are unable to pay a pastor's salary.
With financial stability, pastors will dedicate more time to effective ministerial duties. Pastors in this district are trained to be tent makers to provide for their family, while also support local church members in need. Lifting the burden of familial responsibility allows pastors to spent more quality time in ministry and service to the church and the community.
Each pastor and local church on this district will be given ten pigs. They are encouraged to build a shade or housing for the animals, as well as develop homemade feed for the pigs. The animals will be raised for food, breeding and profit. As the pigs grow and are bred, opportunities will arise to share piglets with other zones in the district, others who may be in need, or sold for profit.
Giving now provides support for this initiative of economic sustainability and encourages the growth and care of pastors and churches in Tanzania!
